VIDEO SUBMISSIONS ONLY

PLEASE NOTE: MANY ROLES HAVE ALREADY BEEN CAST. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR A LIST OF AVAILABLE ROLES.

AVAILABLE ROLES
Kate Keller (Mother) — Kate, 50, knows that Joe is guilty but lives in denial while mourning for her younger son Larry, who has been “missing in action” for three years. She refuses to believe that Larry is dead and maintains that Ann Deever — who returns for a visit at the request of Larry’s brother Chris — is still “Larry’s girl” and also believes that he is coming back.

Lydia, 27, was George’s love interest before the war; after he went away, she married Frank and they soon had three children. She is a model of peaceful domesticity and lends a much-needed cheerful air to several moments of the play.

Dr. Jim Bayliss — Jim, 40, is a successful doctor, but is frustrated with the stifling domesticity of his life. He wants to become a medical researcher, but continues in his job as it pays the bills. He is a close friend to the Keller family and spends a lot of time in their backyard.

AUDITION NOTICE
For the Whim Productions announces open auditions for “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller.

Director April Johnson and Assistant Director Rachel Sneed are seeking THREE actors to complete the cast of FTW’s upcoming production of “All My Sons”. People ages 18 and up of all genders, races, and abilities are encouraged to audition.

Portrayed genders and age ranges are suggested for available roles as described under the “Roles/Character Descriptions” link under the “Preparation” section of this post.

ABOUT THE PLAY
During the war Joe Keller and Steve Deever ran a machine shop which made airplane parts. Deever was sent to prison because the firm turned out defective parts, causing the deaths of many men. Keller went free and made a lot of money. The twin shadows of this catastrophe and the fact that the young Keller son was reported missing during the war dominate the action. The love affair of Chris Keller and Ann Deever, the bitterness of George Deever returned from the war to find his father in prison and his father’s partner free, are all set in a structure of almost unbearable power. The climax showing the reaction of a son to his guilty father is fitting conclusion to a play electrifying in its intensity. – Dramatists Play Service
