For the Whim Productions is a nonprofit organization that relies on volunteers to make it all happen! We have opportunities for people with all levels of theatre experience.
Members participate on committees — and these committees conduct the business and determine the direction of the organization.
Membership is FREE, but an application is required. Member applications are reviewed on a monthly basis and approved by our Board of Directors.

Committees:
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI)
Responsible for promoting representation and participation of people of different ages, races and ethnicities, abilities, genders, religions, cultures, and sexual orientations.
Education & Outreach
Responsible for expanding FTW’s membership base, establishing community partnerships, facilitating talkbacks, and developing fundraisers. Coordinates with the DEI and Artistic Officers to ensure FTW’s mission is being articulated to the community. Develops volunteer base and oversees mentor/shadow opportunities. Background in community engagement, education, or similar field preferred.
Hospitality
Responsible for The Lounge (setup, replenishment of refreshments, cleanup/reset) and front of house operations (ushering, ticket sales). Customer service, food service, or retail experience preferred.
Operations
Responsible for all operational areas such as finance, insurance, memberships, securing rights, grant writing, ad sales, ticket sales, record-keeping, compliance, and other tasks related to management of FTW as a registered 501(c)3 organization. Experience with nonprofit management or finance preferred.
Play Reading & Dramaturgy
Responsible for reading and selecting plays to develop FTW’s season as well as providing dramaturgical (historical, cultural, literary) support when needed. Coordinates selections with DEI Officer to ensure productions are inclusive and respectful. Must be willing to read several and assess plays regularly to ensure play selections are appropriate for the organization.
Production
Responsible for the maintenance and management of FTW property, including scenery, lighting & sound equipment. Coordinates with production and event staff regarding technical requests or other areas of concern regarding the physical and technical needs. Background in technical theatre preferred.
Public Relations & Marketing
Responsible for all digital and printed materials. Designs and publishes content for social media, website, production marketing and programs, and any other material available to the general public representing FTW. Supporting FTW efforts through media channels, word of mouth, etc. Helps develop campaigns and production themes. Background in communications, marketing, or design preferred.
